According to property experts, the UAE’s real estate market continues to offer several appealing opportunities, particularly for international investors who first arrived in the country for the Expo 2020 Dubai mega event.

Emad Haq, vice chairman at H&S Real Estate, spoke to Khaleej Times about the “spillover effect” that the global mega event had created by firmly putting the city, and by extension the UAE, on the global map.

“Something we already knew, but now the entire world knows, is that the UAE, and specifically Dubai, can host major global events,” he said. “The UAE has demonstrated to the world that it is now in a position to host the Olympics.” This was the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during the 2005-2006 property boom.”

Haq also mentioned that many of the visitors were not only interested in Expo 2020 Dubai, but also in exploring business and investment opportunities. “We saw active investors from regions we’d never seen before.” They came from Austria, Hungary, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, and other countries. They came to visit the Expo, and while they were there, they realized that this is a great place to invest in, and they ended up buying properties here – such was their confidence in Dubai – and, at the same time, many people considered establishing businesses here.”
