Five of the world’s 100 tallest buildings are currently under construction in Dubai.

The construction of the world’s tallest hotel, Ciel, in Dubai has reached the halfway point, with the 365-metre-tall skyscraper set to open in the first half of 2024.

Work on the megastructure, which is being developed by The First Group, is continuing beyond the 52nd floor and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of next year.

The world’s tallest hotel is currently the Gevora Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, with a height of 356 meters. Prior to Gevora, the world’s tallest hotel was JW Marriott Marquis, which stands 355 meters in the sky.

Sunset Lounge will be located on the 74th floor, and Horizon Bar will be located on the 76th floor.

“Ciel is a landmark development for Dubai that will not only enhance its status as one of the world’s great tourism and business travel destinations, but will set a new benchmark for upscale accommodation in what is recognized as one of the most dynamic and competitive hotel markets on the planet,” said Rob Burns, CEO of The First Group.
