Have you ever waited for a taxi when running late? Or did you have invoices that were due the next day, but no offices were open? Flying abroad but unsure of which website offered trustworthy information and booking options? Governments in each of the United Arab Emirates have applications that act as a one-stop shop and let you access both government and some commercial sector services.
These are the apps you need to have on your phone if you wish to pay your bills, apply for traffic services, or check flight information in the UAE.
UAE Pass
You can use UAE Pass as a single, all-inclusive account to access any of the other apps that will be highlighted below. The application was launched in 2018 as a secure national digital identity in the UAE. You won’t need to keep track of several accounts and passwords for all the government agencies you frequently communicate with after downloading and registering for the app. To log in, just use your UAE Pass.
Additionally, you may use the app to digitally sign a document and even use electronic versions of official documents for various services.
The Google Play Store and the Apple App Store both offer the ability to download the application. Users can visit a nearby kiosk with their Emirates ID to register and have their identity confirmed using facial recognition technology.
Al Hosn
Al Hosn is the name of the national COVID-19 registry for the UAE, and it provides details on a user’s immunization background and previous COVID-19 test outcomes. You need to have a green status on Al Hosn in order to enter several public areas in the UAE, including the airports in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
On Al Hosn, a grey state denotes that the user’s PCR test result is no longer valid (you must take a test every 14 days to retain a green status), and a red status denotes that the most recent test was positive and that the user should contact their local health authority. It’s possible that users with a grey status won’t be allowed to enter public spaces that demand a Green Pass.
The Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Huawei AppGallery, and Samsung Galaxy Store all offer the option to download the application
TAMM Abu Dhabi
Each of the seven emirates that make up the UAE has announced the goals of its digital government. The “TAMM Abu Dhabi Government Services” app was released by the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority in 2021. Users of the app can access Abu Dhabi Government services like applying for visas, finding hospitals, paying utility and communications bills, learning more about the Abu Dhabi school system, and even finding the nearest beach.
Both the Apple Software Store and the Google Play Store sell the app. Users must either have a UAE Pass or register on the TAMM application or website in order to use the features. There, you can also access the TAMM platform: https://www.tamm.abudhabi/en
DubaiNow
In order to give customers access to around 120 public and private services in Dubai, Smart Dubai Government created DubaiNow in 2015. Health, transportation, security, justice, residency, education, and business are some of the categories in which the services fall.
You can use the app to renew your car’s registration, pay for gas, discover pharmacies, pay Zakat, apply for your family’s visas, and more. It is accessible on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Digital Fujairah
To provide a based response for government services in the emirate of Fujairah, the Department of E-Government Fujairah created Digital Fujairah. In addition to other services, users can find the closest mosques, and educational research institutions, or view gas stations and bus stops.
The app offers services in a variety of categories, such as health, Islamic, everyday life, education, and transportation. You may download Digital Fujairah for Apple and Android devices.
The user can create a Digital Fujairah account or sign in using UAE Pass to access the services.
SmartUAQ
Users in Umm al Quwain can access local department services by using the SmartUAQ app, which was created by the Smart Umm Al Quwain Government department.
Services pertaining to Islamic activities and religious affairs, job and employment, family, education, safety, and the environment, business permits, regulation, transportation, and animals and pets are available to citizens, residents, visitors, and businesses in the Emirate.
Users can view various services that are classified into “citizens,” “residents,” “visitors,” and “businesses” according to their demands. Both Google Play and the Apple App Store both offer the application. The portal is accessible via the URL http://uaq.ae as well.
Users can sign in using their UAE Pass credentials or register on the website or app.
